HD will not pair with Pixel XL Android 8.0.0

#1

Hi,
Just curious whether or not anyone was able to pair an HD unit with a Pixel XL with Android 8.0.0.
I have had no luck, even after a reset of the camera. I tried upgrading the firmware to 1.3.3 (just for the heck of it). Still nothing.
Anyone have any suggestions? Or do I give up?

Thanks,
Paul.

(Please note that this is being posted on 10/20/17 and may not be applicable in the future)
Android 8 Oreo has been plagued by Bluetooth connectivity problems since its release in August. This has affected Android 8 devices’ ability to pair with 360fly HD models (360fly 4K are not experiencing this issue). In addition to 360fly HD devices, there have been many reports of Bluetooth connectivity with cars, headphones, and speakers.

360fly has put in a ticket to Google, who is working on correcting the issue. Google has requested that individual customers post about Android 8 bugs on their own user forum - https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/phone-by-google/iJeDphsoOJ4/FzR9f2w_BwAJ

In addition to complaining to Google, if you are experiencing this issue, you can send an email to support@360fly.com, and we will let you know whenever we have any updates.

Android 8.1 was released on 12/5/17 for Nexus and Pixel devices. It is unclear if the bug fixes do much for the lingering Bluetooth issues, but if you can update, we suggest you do. Here is some more information:

This is so bad, for so many products.

For Pixel and Nexus owners, here is some suggested troubleshooting from the Pixel users’ forum - https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/7334382?hl=en

For other smartphone brands running Android 8.1 or later, we recommend checking on that company’s user forums to see if they have any specific Android 8 Bluetooth troubleshooting suggestions.

I own a Note 8, the 360fly app was working fine with my phone running Android Nougat. However as I updated to latest Android Oreo (8.0) today whenever I am opening the app it only loads a blank white screen on the start up and crashes after a while automatically. How do I fix it??

Update: I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled latest version of the 360fly app and it’s working just fine again
